Just signed up for eDOG, or about to? Here's everything you need to know to get your account approved first time 🐶
🎂 Minimum age: 17
You must be at least 17 years old to ride our scooters. Below that, we can't approve the account, even with a BSR. Come back once you've blown out the candles 🥳
📄 The documents you need
An ID document: national ID card (front and back) or passport.
A licence: car licence (B), or BSR / AM licence (front and back).
A profile photo where your face is clearly visible: it's how we check the documents are really yours.
💡 The BSR or AM licence is required whatever your age, even if you were born before 1988.
Once your account is approved, all that's left is to add a bank card so you can ride. A small €0.50 amount is charged to check the card, then credited to your eDOG wallet (more info here).
📸 Taking good photos of your documents
Take the photos directly in the app, with the original document in front of you.
The document must be fully in the frame, sharp, well lit and without glare.
Your first name and last name in the app must match your documents, each in the right field.
⏱️ How long does validation take?
Once you've sent your documents, our team checks them before unlocking your account. During the day, we usually approve new accounts within 5 to 15 minutes.
🌙 If you sign up in the evening or at night, your account will be approved first thing the next morning.
During this short delay, you can't book a scooter yet, that's normal. You can see where you're at in the app, under "Mon compte" (My account): pending, approved or rejected.
Still pending after 15 minutes during the day? First check that your selfie, your licence and your ID are clearly readable, then message us on the chat with your first name, last name and the email you signed up with so we can find your account.
🆕 Just passed your licence or BSR?
No need to wait for your card: we accept the temporary certificate (the pass certificate you get after the exam, showing your result), for both the car licence and the BSR / AM licence.
⚠️ This certificate is only valid for 4 months. As soon as you receive your card, add it in the app: otherwise your account will be blocked at the end of the 4 months.
❌ However, an invoice or a training certificate from the driving school does not replace the licence.
📱 Licence only on France Identité?
A licence shown in the France Identité app is not accepted: we need the physical card. If you passed your licence less than 4 months ago, you can use your temporary certificate in the meantime (see above).
🩷 Old pink paper licence
It is accepted as long as it's still valid. Take clear photos of the pages showing your name, your photo and your licence categories.
🚫 Why was my sign-up rejected?
The most common reasons:
No photo of your face, or a photo where we can't recognise you.
A blurry, cropped or incomplete document (front or back missing).
A first or last name that doesn't match your documents, or is swapped.
You already have an account with the same email or phone number: log in to your existing account instead.
The documents aren't in your name: every rider must sign up with their own papers.
You're under 17.
In most cases, just fix the point in question in the app and send your documents again 👍
